First Visit

Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Usually, treatment will be done the same day as the consultation.  However, a surgical procedure such as an apicoectomy will require the initial consultation and a second appointment for the actual surgery on another day.   For extremely apprehensive patients, we offer conscious sedation, which also requires a separate consultation appointment prior to the treatment appointment.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your referral slip and any X-rays your referring dentist sent with you.
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.
  • If you have dental insurance, bring your insurance I.D. card and a picture I.D. such as a drivers license.  (We collect your insurance information well before your appointment date; this allows us to research your dental benefits before your consultation.  Your financial questions or concerns can be addressed ahead of time to avoid surprises.)
  • Please bring your eyeglasses, if you require them to fill out paperwork.

IMPORTANT:  All patients under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to the procedure (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial joints or heart valves, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, blood thinners, etc.)  Also inform us if you require prophylactic antibiotics before dental treatment.

X-Rays

If your dentist has taken recent x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office.  They can  send them to us using the  Referring Doctors section on this website.  Or, if it's convenient, pick them up and bring them to our office.  If additional films are necessary, they will be taken at our facility.
